On this beautiful day our group of twelve tallied 52 species. We were
delighted by a family of common mergansers
crossing the river above the falls with chicks resting on the mother's back.
On the eagle's nest both eaglets were
seen. Louisiana waterthrush, Y-B cuckoo and red-eyed vireo were most
cooperative. This regular Sunday walk meets
at 8;00 in the parking lot and progresses to the visitor's center courtyard.
All are welcome to join. -- Marshall Rawson, McLean VA
