Weather:
Mostly cloudy becoming mostly sunny, although there was enough cirrus and
hazy clouds to make things bearabe late in the day. NE 3-12 mph, high of
72 degrees.
Raptor Observations:
A nice steady flow of birds with good variety for our lookout at this time
of year. The broadwings were on the move by the time I got out, so the
count could have been higher with earlier coverage. Most were found as
usual on either side of the ridge, sometimes to the limit of vision.
Pretty high as usual, but not in the stratosphere. Hourly Broadwing count
by EST; 11:45 (45), 12 (168), 1(64), 2 (35), 3 (51), 4(0). Only one of the
eagles was an immature. I'm pretty sure an Osprey at 2:18 EST had an
antenna projecting from the end of the middle of its tail.
