Total observation time: 6 hours
Official Counter: Tad Finnell
Observers: Bill Adams, Goffs
Visitors:
Seth Williamson made a guest appearance. Gilberts and "The Mayor" making
their bids for Parkway supremacy.
Main man Cory with an eloquent discourse on pronating and supronating (I
don't know, ask him!)
Weather:
Mild variable westerly breezes with blue skies in the morning and
moderate clouds in the afternoon. Unusually warm day for mid November.
Raptor Observations:
First bird rose out of the valley about 10:30, an uncallable buteo
rising and heading for the overlook. Then it got close and I could tell it
was an immature accipiter. My first Goshawk of the season. Pair of Basic II
Bald Eagles rose out of same spot at 2:30. Nice distractions for a slow
day.
Non-raptor Observations:
Very few passerines flying, but continuous groups of Cedar Waxwings.
Hard to tell whether they were the same groups.
Predictions:
Since I was there, slow day
