Visitors:
No hikers or bikers. Quite a bit of traffic on the parkway - I suspect the
Peaks Lodge restaurant did a brisk business today.
Weather:
Pleasant,cloudless, breeze managed to make it to a category 3 on occasion,
excellent visibility.
Raptor Observations:
Neither vultures nor ravens were very visible today.
Had a Raven with a chunk of red in its beak fly west to east over the
parking lot. I suspect part of a victim of the gunshots I was hearing most
of the day.
Non-raptor Observations:
Monarch butterflies. One at 12:54 with one tattered wing, and one at 1:21
with non-tattered wings.64 planes flew by mostly in a southerly direction.
A few went north and a few went west to east. All but one had contrails,
and they were all short and non-lingering - I guess due to the low
humidity.
Junco, Bluebird, Pileated WP (2), Red-bellied WP. Chickadee, Goldfinch,
RT, TV, BV
Predictions:
The GE and RL that I waited so patiently for will probably show.
