Observers:
Weather:
The great October snow storm closed the parkway this morning and Baron and
I met at the Peaks of Otter Lodge which was operating (Rt. 43 is kept open
for access to Apple Orchard radar station). Baron was told that the
parkway in our area would likely be closed for a week or more because of
downed trees. We watched several migrants going over including 2 BE's.
The Peaks are East of Harvey's and likely with different birds (perhaps a
bifurcation point). Baron left to find the parkway open(?) and conducted
the following count.
Raptor Observations:
The two Goshawks were together.
Non-raptor Observations:
Frenchmen in the road (check nascar lingo).
Predictions:
Calmer winds and situation.
