Weather:
Conditions were sunny today with various amounts of high cloud and
con-trails. Winds were light to moderate northeast becoming north-northwest
by midday and northwest in late afternoon.
Raptor Observations:
The flight was improved over recent days but still not a huge movement
overall. Many of the birds were high and with the lack of clouds at various
times during the day, detection was difficult. Still not too bad of a day.
Non-raptor Observations:
This proved to be the first big push of Yellow-rumped Warblers with
hundreds coming through, even into the early evening hours. Monarchs were
also migrating in numbers. Movement of this species has been poor so far
this fall so it was nice to see so many today.
