Weather:
Warm, 18.4C. Moderate SW wind at 1pm, diminishing to light after 3pm.
Mostly sunny.
Raptor Observations:
An adult, dark-morph, Western subspecies of Red-tailed Hawk flew southward
on east side of the gap at 2:20pm. It first appeared high over Bear Den
towers where we could easily see all dark underneath (which baffled us for
a few seconds at first), but then it reduced altitude and flew by low out
to our east where we could easily see the red upper tail color, marking it
as an adult.
Four Bald Eagles: a 1:46 adult and three immatures at 3:39, 3:53 and 4:13.
Non-raptor Observations:
2 late Tree Swallows, 3 Raven, 48 Waxwing, 2 Monarchs.
Predictions:
Nice with good Western winds
