Observation start time: 08:00:00
Observation end   time: 14:00:00
Total observation time: 6 hours

Official Counter:        Mark Johnson

Observers:        Brenda Tekin

Visitors:
Hans Hinz

Weather:
No official stats recorded today.  Approaching cold front produced mostly
overcast throughout the day with very brief breaks in clouds and a few
raindrops.  A steady wind from the west changing to WNW and NW. Temperature
at 11:30 a.m. EST was 60 degrees fahrenheit.  By early evening, clouds were
moving out for a spectacular sunset and crystal clear skies and dropping
temps.

Raptor Observations:
Birds were flying fast and low, utilizing the brisk Westerly wind.  October
is the time for great diversity and today Mark Johnson was on board flying
solo and tallied three falcon species.  A Peregrine came in at 10:25 and
one at 12:25 p.m. EST.  The Merlin zipped past at 11:53 p.m. and the single
Bald Eagle for the day, a juvenile, at 12:21.

Non-raptor Observations:

Predictions:
A typical October day with bright blue skies, chilly temps and brisk winds
on tail end of the cold front.  Just right for a good flight.  We'll see!
