Weather:
Chilly today after cold front came through overnight. Temp. started out at
6.0'C reaching 15.5'C by noon. Clear blue skies all day (not a single
cloud). Breezes mainly from the N at 20-25km/hr throughout day. Humidity
ranged from 30-56%, bar. pressure 1022>1019.
Raptor Observations:
Plenty of Red Tailed Hawks passing through as well as Red Shouldered Hawks.
Only a few Sharp Shinned Hawks. Most birds were flying fairly high today,
not seeming to be in any hurry...usually circling high in thermals.
Non-raptor Observations:
Lots and lots of birds passing through in the early morning.
Many flocks of robins (15, 32, 22, 50, 40, 30, 130, 18, 30, 35, 45, 45,
30) totaling 522 plus lots of single birds not counted.
Several flocks of Cedar Waxwings (100, 22, 25, 18, 12, 24) totaling 191.
A flock of 20 D.C. Cormorants flying east.
Two flocks of Red Winged Blackbirds (~250, 70) totaling 320.
5 Ravens.
6 Monarchs (I hope they make it!)
Predictions:
Mainly sunny. High 62F. Winds NNW at 10 to 15 mph.
