Raptor Observations:
First bird of the day arrived within a few minutes upon arrival, an imm.
Bald Eagle at 9:21 EST. A north bound adult BAEA flying well below eye
level sailing over I-64 at 9:51; Two more for the day observed by Gabriel
Mapel, an imm. at 2:55 and last bird of the day, an adult BAEA at 3:17.
Pretty slow with only 4 birds during the first 105 minutes (9:15 - 11 am
EST). No observation between 11 am-1 pm.
Non-raptor Observations:
Two Evening Grosbeaks flew in low and close for decent views as they headed
southward over the parking lot at 9:43 EST; Small flocks of Pine Siskins
back and forth along with Cedar Waxwings. Gabriel reported 5 Ring-billed
Bulls cirdling overhead at 1:12 and then heading south; 10 Common Grackles
and 3 flocks of Double-crested Cormorants (15-140-35) a total of 190 for
the day.
