0 visitors - Counter was flying solo today.
Weather:
Day started with dark clouds and light rain showers with approaching cold
front, delaying count until 11 a.m. EST. A few drizzles between 11 - 11:30
and then skies gradually cleared to mostly cloudy with few breaks to allow
brief periods of sunshine. Steady NW winds 15-25km/h increasing to around
32-34km/h. Temperature started at 17.2C dropping to 14.5C.
Raptor Observations:
Once the lower, darker rain clouds moved off top of ridge, birds were in
the air, moving quickly across. Bald Eagle #70 for the season, a juvenile,
flew past at 12:58 p.m. EST.
Non-raptor Observations:
Two decent-sized flocks of Double-crested Cormorant heading due south.
First was a group of 120+ and 48 in the second group.
Predictions:
Sunnier, dryer and cooler. More fall colors.
