Visitors:
Bob Hing and Carole Zimmerman hung out for several hours getting nice
closeup views of the Kestrel and some Red-Tailed Hawks.
Weather:
Slight breezes from the South (12-19km/hr). Temperature ranged from
42-46'F. The sky was mostly cloudy all day and full of very interesting
white clouds. Humidity was ~38%.
Raptor Observations:
Slow but steady flight of Red-Tailed Hawks. Another Bald Eagle (adult)
viewed flying south in the distance out over the east valley. A local
American Kestrel (adult male) hung out only 50 yards away for several
hours. He would spend his time perched on telephone poles and wires while
flying down to the ground often to bring up morsels to eat. He gave us
terrific close-up views.
Non-raptor Observations:
Cedar Waxwings (3 flocks of 14, 12, and 14 birds).
Red Winged Blackbirds (flock of 25 males & females).
3 Ravens.
2 Gulls.
