Weather:
Hot day with 25-32*C temps. Nice, moderate W winds all day really helped
get the birds moving today! Clear blue skies in morning becoming 40% cloudy
by 1pm.
Raptor Observations:
Another banner day for Bald Eagles with 12 total (7 between 1-2pm): 8
adults (10:25am, 10:49am, 1:01pm, 1:23pm, 1:26pm, 1:56pm, 1:58pm, 2:30pm)
and 4 immatures (10:33am, 10:59am, 1:33pm, 1:57pm). A nice showing of 13
Kestrels, and 3 more Osprey.
Non-raptor Observations:
Lots of hummingbirds today zipping by, often in pairs, with a total of 44
(not close to the record of 71 on 8/30/09).
50 Chimney Swifts, 4 Monarch butterflies, 3 Cedar Waxwings.A nice count of 14 Ravens today.
