Visitors:
A big thanks to John & Marilyn Adair (from Yorktown, VA) for visiting and
treating us to fresh Apple Dumplings, which were delicious by the way! Stop
by again when you're passing through! Other visitors who braved the fierce
winds included Bob Eggleston, Ken Hinkle, Janet Paisley, Diane Lepkowski,
John Spar, and a few others.
Weather:
Chilly and very, very windy. NW winds at 30-37mph all day. Temp.
11.8-14.5C. Partly cloudy in the morning, becoming mostly cloudy after
lunch and overcast by 2pm. Clear visibility and 45-49% humidity.
Raptor Observations:
The birds were flying well in the morning, but for some reason things
really slowed down in the afternoon. Only 3 raptors seen from 2-4pm.
The first Golden Eagle of the season, an immature, flew by at 8:45am.
All 4 Bald Eagles flew by between 10-11am: 3 adults at 10:16, 10:26 and
10:45am and 1 immature at 10:27am.
Non-raptor Observations:
183 Monarchs.
1 DC Cormorant.
House Wren.
A good number of Chimney Swifts.
Some Tree Sparrows.
Predictions:
50% rain, cloudy, cool, and high of 51F.
