Weather:
The day started with sunny skies and @ 25% Cirrus clouds. Winds were from
the NW at 12-19 km/h all day long! The temperature started at 2 degrees C
and finished the day at 10 degrees C (36 to 50 degrees F).
Raptor Observations:
The highlight of the day was an adult-female Rough-legged Hawk at 10:10a.m.
This was the count's first of the season. Two adult Bald Eagles, two N.
Harriers (one was an adult male), two sharpies, one Cooper's, 48
Red-tailed, and one adult Golden Eagle made up the rest of thr migrants.
Non-raptor Observations:
There were numerous large flocks of Passerines including 20 Blue Jays, 25
Pine Siskins and 19 Gold Finches.
Only 4 hikers today.
Predictions:
Better weather to follow.
