Friends,
Dave Hogg and I drove over the Blue Ridge to Rockingham County early this
morning to try and see the adult HARRIS'S SPARROW that has been visiting Larry
Carpenter's property for more than a week. We were not disappointed! After
being welcomed by the generous homeowner, Larry Carpenter, we soon found the
sparrow and were able to study it in binoculars and scope as it foraged along
the yard's perimeter from 08:35 until 08:45 am, when it flew off. We remained
in the Carpenters' yard until 09:30 am, visiting with Larry, watching and
enjoying the many birds visiting the feeders.
