Visitors:
Parkway traffic was down, but we had a few visitors, including a nice lady
from NY who had several questions re the hawkwatch.
Great help today from Allen, Carl, Bill, Phillip, and Jerry and Sandra.
Several hikers on the AT today.
Weather:
Cool 62F to start and warmed to 84F. Started with no clouds, but fog in the
Valley. Cloudiness did increase to 30%, but then backed off. Visibility was
a 5. Wind was light and variable to start, but 2-3 from the ESE at the end
of the watch.
Raptor Observations:
First bird was an immature BE at 10:45A. ABE at 12:47P and 1:59P. Good run
of Osprey and our first Merlin of the season.
Non-raptor Observations:
Baltimore oriole was seen one overlook down from the Knob.
Predictions:
Cools off nicely, but chance of showers in the afternoon. Hopefully BW
numbers increase.
