Official Counter: David Brunstetter
Observers: Bill James
Visitors:
Bill James split the shift with me. Despite the cold, we still had a few
hikers.
Weather:
It was 35F this morning. The thermometer did not move much during the
watch. With the wind of 4-5 and gusts of higher, it made for quite the
chilly day. Cloud cover was initially 50%, but cleared off as the day went
on. Winds were primarily W to NW. Visibility was a 5.
Raptor Observations:
Between migrants and locals, red-tails were popping up everywhere in the
Western valley and over the knob. 2 second year bald eagles showed up at
12:30p and an immature golden eagle showed at 12:55p. One of the northern
harriers was a grey ghost.
Non-raptor Observations:
Did I mention it was cold.
Predictions:
Winds still blowing, though a little more westerly and not as strong. Hope
they have as good a day as today.
