Visitors:
Don and his son, Chris, and his family helped out for a few hours. Chris is
a game bird ornithologist. Keith G who used to come to the watch about 30
years ago came for an extended visit. He and his wife will be moving back
to the area later this year. Hope to see him at the watch next year. Met a
nice lady and her son who had moved to the area from New York. A few others
stopped by, though I did not catch their names. Only a few hikers today.
Weather:
Very pleasant day. Cool to start at 52F and warmed to 66F. Good NNW winds
that turned northerly. Wind speed began as a 4 and eventually was variable
from 1-3. Visibility was a 5 throughout. Cloud cover maxed out at 4%.
Raptor Observations:
All birds seen off to the west. First bird was a RT at 8:50a. Only 1 bird
was seen after 11a. Lots of local RT's today.
Non-raptor Observations:
Only a couple of monarchs. No stink bugs.
Predictions:
Another pleasant day.
