From 4:00-6:15 PM on April 22 a good number of
hawks, swifts and swallows flew over the Flint
Hill School campus. They distracted me from
watching the girls'lacrosse team as they flew in
just over tree-top level riding the fast winds
giving us great views.  With the help of a
student and a couple of interested parents who
pitched in at different times we tallied the
following:
89 Broad-winged Hawks
9 ospreys
1 merlin
2 red-tailed hawks (possibly the local birds)
7 purple martin
2 barn swallow
4 tree swallow
about 80 chimney swift

All the best
Fred
