Hello all
Just got back from the Richmond area where I spent most of the morning visiting
my step - daughter & Grandson . This was a two for one trip . Some of my step
- daughter's friends came along for we all went to Henricus Park for a little
bird watching . The friends young daughter is into bird watching & so I showed
her a few birds & we listened to them sing . My target bird was the Least
Bittern & it made a brief showing by flying across the marshy area & it called
at least one time . Other birds seen were a Blue -gray Gnatcatcher sitting on a
nest . Two Bald Eagles one was a Juv. & an Osprey fishing out over the channel
. A couple of Eastern Peewee were calling but they stayed hidden . Some of the
other birds seen were the year round ones . A very nice visit with family &
friends at the park .
