We birded the state border road (FR 85-2) in Rockingham Co. today and found
all but 1 of our target species (not a single Broad-winged).
Bev Leeuwenburg joined us for a fun, albeit cold & blustery outing. Almost
all of the birds were from 3300 to 3700 ft. None were abundant, and it took
some effort to find some, but here is our list:
Blue-headed Vireo
BLACK-CAPPED CHICKADEE
Veery
Wood Thrush
Chestnut-sided Warbler
Black-throated Blue Warbler
YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER
Black-throated Green Warbler
BLACKBURNIAN WARBLER
Pine Warbler (only 1 spot at 2100 ft)
Redstart
Worm-eating Warbler
Ovenbird
Hooded Warbler
Scarlet Tanager
Dark-eyed Junco
Rose-breasted Grosbeak
