Hi,
I drove to Dulles Int'l Airport early this afternoon to pick up a couple of
friends. While driving toward the terminal I noticed a white heron/egret
flying in my general direction that was too small for a Great Egret. I kept my
eyes on the bird and as I passed it it landed on short grass in the median.
Small size, not slender shaped, yellow bill - Cattle Egret! I wasn't able to
stop so I unfortunately couldn't watch it.
I'm not sure of my exact location but I think I was in the vicinity of the end
of the Dulles Access Road near Dulles Pond.
