I went to Hog Island on Saturday and the weather was beautiful. There was
low humidity and it did not get too hot while I was out from 8:30 AM to
12:30 PM. The best viewing spots were in the Homewood Creek and along Hog
Island Creek. Ospreys, herons, and egrets were everywhere. I have a
picture (see link below) of a blue bird that I know is not a Blue Jay, can
anyone help me identify it? Also, there is a picture of a bird that I
believe is a juvenile Bald Eagle. Can someone confirm it?
The only thing different from this hike that I would have done is walked
along the East side of Homewood Creek during the morning for optimum
photography opportunities. I was unable to take any pictures from the West
bank because I would have been shooting into the sun.
Pictures of various birds (one picture per species) from my Hog Island walk
