Hello all
This morning I started my Rabbit & Quail runs for the DGIF . My first run
was in the New Hope area & it covers a lot of the hay fields along Rockfish
Rd. On my third stop while listening out for Quail , I heard a single Sedge
Wren singing from one of the heavy but uncut hay fields .( this field will
be cut very soon ) This field is located just north of Rt 775 that connects
Rt. 608 to Rockfish Rd. . After the survey I went back but could not
relocate the bird . Also at the old Dupont ponds in Waynesboro I found 3
female Hooded Mergansers . I think this may make our 6th summer record ??
but it is a new summer peak count .
