We are having an early Halloween surprise--a very late Ruby-throated
Hummingbird has been in the back yard much of the afternoon, using Salvia,
Abelia, and Fuchsia blossoms. It is the fattest hummingbird we've ever seen,
almost round, but otherwise it looks like a female or immature male Ruby-throat.
