Early morning walk at Huntley Meadows today.  Weather was sunny and getting 
warm.  

Common Yellowthroat (many)
Blue-Gray Gnatcatcher (many)
Green heron (3)
Green Wing Teal  (1 pair)
Great Egret (13)
Great Blue Heron (5)
Barn Swallow (3 - investigating nest sites under the boardwalk)
Eastern Phoebe (3)
Eastern Bluebird (3 to 5)
Rusty Blackbird (1)
Osprey (1 - roosting in the dead trees to the west of the boardwalk)
Wood Duck (5)
Louisiana Waterthrush (heard)
Chipping sparrow (2)
Oven Bird (heard)
Gold Finch  (many)
Yellow -Rumped Warbler  (many)
probable Least sandpiper (1)

Star of the Day:  American bittern circling the central wetlands two or three 
times, and then landing.

Disappointment of the Day:  The adult Little Blue Heron reported early this 
week was not seen.
