Huntley Meadows Saturday morning. The Sora was quiet, but visible. Saw it 3 times between 7:15 and 8:30 am in the location reported earlier - first left on the boardwalk, then right to small open water area. Great look on one occasion when it was walking around on the reeds. The Virginia Rail chattered the entire time, came within 10 feet of the boardwalk, but was not seen. Four Snipe, one of which was feeding at the water's edge, 3 flew off. LA Waterthrush just off the path between VC and beginning of boardwalk.

Aquia Landing mid-morning. Two Mute Swans were feeding in a small cove on Thorny Point Road adjacent to Aquia Landing (end of Brook Road in Stafford County). A lone Horned Grebe at Aquia Landing.
