The Huntley Meadows Monday Morning Birdwalk reversed its normal process this
morning by starting with breakfast and then taking the walk because of the
weather (the 'Rain or Shine' policy doesn't apply to electrical storms). The 7
stalwarts who slogged along after the storm passed spotted 36 species. Our
highlights were hearing, and very briefly spotting a Virginia Rail; our first
Great Egret of the season, and some Gadwalls, a species not seen much this
winter.
