It was the perfect morning as 17 birders gathered for the weekly Huntley
Meadows
Monday Morning Birdwalk. Tempreatures in the 60s, a light breeze, and bright
blue skies with puffy white clouds made for a wonderful walk. The Osprey who
is
becoming a routine sighting didn't fail us today, nor did the Wood Duck,
Mallard, and Hooded Merganser families. We were also treated to a large group
of Killdeer, several raptors, and the usual collection of Flycatchers.

The Monday Morning Birdwalk has been a weekly event at Huntley Meadows since
1985. It takes place every week, rain or shine, at 7AM (8AM during December,
January and February), is free of charge, requires no reservation, and is open
to all. Birders meet in the parking lot at the Park's entrance at 3701 Lockheed
Blvd, Alexandria, VA. Questions should be directed to Park staff during normal
