VA BIRDers,
I visited the backside of Huntley this morning from about 615 for 4 hrs.
Not too birdy. And I was not as lucky as described in Ben's backside report
from yesterday or Harry's synopsis of today's boardwalk report. Yet, my
info may help to give a picture of migration today at Huntley Meadows. For
me the top morning bird was Swamp Sparrow closely followed by Wilson's
Warbler. Everything else was pretty much common and expected. I present
the list below. After work I visited the boardwalk area (ca. 630pm). No
luck on the Mourning Warbler (I see that the banding reports suggest Sat and
Sun would have been good days) but I did add to the boardwalk highlights
with a few birds such as Common Nighthawk and Cliff Swallow. These select
results are also listed below.
