Three Virginia Rails were calling at Huntley Meadows this morning starting at
about 6:15 AM, Two within the loop which appeared to vocalize with territorial
grunts while the other was sounding off southeast of the loop. The pair
within the loop may be establishing nesting territory.
Fort Hunt had a nice assortment of birds with 11 warbler species identifed, the
highlight being a Kentucky Warbler that approached closely.
