Rich,
After leaving the group early, I was almost to the slanted tree area which I
always check out. A man and woman were looking towards the tree and started
waving at me to join them. I was hoping they had the screech owl, but instead
they had a Barred Owl. It was to the left of the slanted tree, quite low, but
it was pretty far back near where you could see parked boats through the trees.
We watched it fly back and forth for awhile and then suddenly stop when large
numbers of Blue Jays flew in and set up quite a racket.
Thought you might like to know and decided to email you in case they did not.
