VA Birders,
I regret to inform you that Bob Watson, probably the last of the founding
members, past President, and Director Emeritus of the Northern Virginia Bird
Club (NVBC), died on Thursday, July 1. Bob, who was a long-time resident of
Arlington Co., also served as Secretary of the Virginia Society of Ornithology
(VSO) for many years. A Death Notice was published on July 4 and is scheduled
to be printed again tomorrow, July 6, in the Washington Post (it will also be
in the Washington Post online edition). A memorial service will be held at St.
Andrew's Episcopal Church, Arlington, on Saturday, July 10, at 11:00 am.
