Sitting on my front porch before dinner, I hoped to see the Chimney Swifts
again to show my hubby, Ben. Did see flocks of Cedar Wax Wings settling
into trees for the night. Later went back out and thought I had a Purple
Finch (but NOT)...
as I followed birds flying around towards back of garage, saw a bird on
lower branch of oak tree. Quite surprised to put my binocs on an Indigo
Bunting (male)...had fun listening to him calling & singing as I tried to
find him for Ben.
Wondered why, at 7:15-7:45 so much bird activity... dawned on me the wind
had blown a gale all day & the birds were just able to feed after the wind
died out. Mary & Ben Copeland, Hampton, VA.
