I birded Claude Moore Park in Sterling from 8:00 to 9:00 this morning. Birds
were very active on a clear, calm day. The highlight was watching a Cooper's
Hawk repeatedly chase a Belted Kingfisher every time it flew over the larger of
the park's ponds. When I left, the Kingfisher was still flying free, but the
Hawk seemed persistent.
