Observation start time: 07:00:00
Observation end   time: 16:00:00
Total observation time: 9 hours

Official Counter:        Anna Stunkel

Observers:        Bob Anderson, Harry Armistead, Joe Beatty, Steve Thornhill

Weather:
Moderate winds were generally from the east southeast, becoming lighter in
the afternoon. Skies were overcast with a few showers here and there, and
temperatures in the seventies.

Raptor Observations:
It was a good count for the date, with mostly Ospreys seen. Our friend the
Osprey landed on the telephone pole again for several hours feeding on a
fish, and (probably the same bird) came back later to dry its wings.

Non-raptor Observations:
Many birds were on the move today, especially Eastern Kingbirds (with ~337
tallied), yellowlegs sp. (with ~152 tallied), Purple Martins, and Barn
Swallows. Interestingly, most of the kingbirds were moving in the
afternoon. A beautiful Yellow-throated Warbler landed on the platform ramp
twice today, allowing for great looks and photo opportunities. Other
highlights included:

8 Blue-gray Gnatcatchers
1 Brown Thrasher
1 Common Nighthawk
1 Solitary Sandpiper
1 Yellow-billed Cuckoo
