Observation start time: 07:00:00
Observation end   time: 16:00:00
Total observation time: 9 hours

Official Counter:        Anna Stunkel

Observers:        Joe Beatty, Ned Brinkley

Weather:
Winds were light and mostly from the northwest, with a brief shift to
southeast before becoming northwesterly again this afternoon. Skies were
clear this morning with some clouds in the afternoon. Temperatures were in
the low sixties to low seventies.

Raptor Observations:
Mostly Ospreys were moving, and birds were flying quite high. It was also a
good day for Bald Eagle movement.

Non-raptor Observations:
Many passerines were active this morning, especially Black-and-white
Warblers, American Redstarts, and Northern Parulas. Ned spotted a diverse
array of species including seven Red-headed Woodpeckers, three Tennessee
Warblers, and one Prothonotary Warbler. Many Bobolinks were moving, with an
estimated 700+ birds seen. A Yellow-breasted Chat landed very close to the
platform among the pokeberry. This afternoon, it was interesting and
exciting to see a pair of adult Bald Eagles apparently displaying; the
birds locked talons and cartwheeled downwards for a few seconds. Seventeen
Monarchs fluttered by today.
