Total observation time: 10.5 hours
Official Counter: Anna Stunkel
Observers: Bill Purcell, Eli Gross, Julia Magill, Ned Brinkley,

Weather:
Winds started out strong, and became lighter as the day progressed. Wind
direction was generally from the northwest. Skies were deep blue with no
clouds whatsoever for most of the day. It finally felt like fall thanks to
the cold front, with temperatures in the sixties.
Raptor Observations:
Birds were very high-flying throughout most of the day. There was a nice
little burst of small falcons in the evening.
Non-raptor Observations:
We saw a single flock of 59 Great Egrets today! They were flying together
in a v-formation, heading southwest. Another flock of seven Great Egrets
also passed. There was a big flight of at least 240 Chimney Swifts as well.
Wes found a beautiful Eastern Hog-nosed Snake near the butterfly garden.
Other observations included:
26 Surf Scoters
2 Black Scoters
1 Cape May Warbler
1 Common Loon (FOS)
1 Common Nighthawk
1 Dunlin
1 White Ibis
15 Monarchs
