Weather:
Strong winds were from the west northwest, northwest, and west southwest,
with mostly sunny skies and a steady temperature of 59 degrees Fahrenheit.
Raptor Observations:
A mere trickle. An adult Red-shouldered Hawk buzzed very close past the
platform this morning while hunting, which was very exciting, though!
Non-raptor Observations:
One Sandhill Crane was seen this afternoon, among vultures and heading
southwards. Many Northern Gannets were feeding on the bay. An unknown
hummingbird species was seen twice today- it buzzed past the platform and
then later visited a feeder for just a couple of seconds before leaving. I
did not get a good enough look at the bird to identify it, so hopefully it
will stick around tomorrow. Five Monarchs and one Cabbage White were seen.
