I've received several responses that these birds are first year Forster's
Terns. Thanks to all for the help. We don't get many terns here in central
Virginia, and these are the first time I have seen first year Forster's.

In real life, the shortest distance between two points is never a straight
line, so you might as well enjoy the journey !!

Subject: RE: Possible White-winged Terns
I am back from my Delmarva trip, and will try to post a complete report with
photos in a few days. But I posted the photos of the possible White-winged
Terns that I saw at Chincoteague:

I am not an expert on coastal birds, and would appreciate opinions as to the
species of the birds I saw there.
