Observation start time: 08:00:00
Observation end time: 15:00:00
Total observation time: 7 hours
Official Counter: Anna Stunkel
Observers: Brian Taber, Wes Hetrick
Weather:
Very light winds were variable, often from the north and northwest. Skies
were clear, with temperatures in the mid forties to high fifties.
Raptor Observations:
An immature Golden Eagle on the east side was a nice highlight. It was
being dive-bombed by a juvenile Bald Eagle.
Non-raptor Observations:
Brian spotted a Yellow-headed Blackbird flying southwards amidst a
Red-winged Blackbird flock this morning, at 8:28 am. One, or possibly two,
hummingbird(s) continue(s) to be hanging around and visiting the feeders.
Amazingly, at this late date 59 Monarchs were tallied.
Other highlights included:
~1300 blackbird sp. (mostly Red-winged Blackbirds and Common Grackles)
~300 American Robins
288 southbound Turkey Vultures
~75 Brown-headed Cowbirds
45 southbound Black Vultures
6 American Pipits
1 Purple Finch
1 Rusty Blackbird
1 Orange Sulphur
