Another beautiful morning greeted 28 birders on the Huntley Meadows Monday
Morning Birdwalk. We tallied 53 species, with 11 species of waterfowl, most of
the winter Woodpecker species, and some beautiful looks at freshly molted male
Eastern Bluebird jousting with a Downy over a snag in the central wetlands as
our highlights. A few of our birders wanted to include a Bald Eagle soaring
over the restaurant we always gather at for a tally rally. I have not counted
this sighting since it was made in the restaurant parking lot and not at the
Park. Rules are rules!
