Howdy all,
After a good rain again last night, the cloudy held off rain this morning and
kept the temps down so we could get in some good banding. But, someone forgot
to tell the birds the nets were open. I only managed to band 8 birds today.
So a bit uneventful. It was nice to be somewhat cooler today, however.
Seems the mosquitoes have been busy hatching and laying eggs. And the
chiggers are feeding well here.
Anyway, always hopeful tomorrow is going to be better.
As for the RED-BREASTED NUTHATCHES, I received a few emails, and it seems
they are starting to come down this way, with a few people reporting them at
lower elevations, most relatively recently, but a few from over a month ago.
Should be interesting what the finch forecast reports for food up north.

Kind of ready for Sept to get here.
Oh yea, had some visitors stop by this morning and they had found a KENTUCKY
WARBLER in/or near the park yesterday. Always a nice bird here.
