A total of eight people turned out on a cool & cloudy day for a Northern
Virginia Bird Club trip to Leesylvania State Park, led by Joanna Taylor and
myself. The surprise of the trip was finding 12 Royal Terns resting on the
breakwater by the main boat launching area. The treetops were loaded with
Cedar Waxwings feasting on berries. Joanna got a brief look at a Summer
Tanager. Otherwise, things were a bit slow -- a solitary Yellow Warbler was
our only warbler species. The complete list of 43 species follows
