Howdy all,
A bit more than half way through the birding and wildlife festival here and the
weather again this year has not been very conducive for bird banding. Way too
much wind. But on the brighter side, we have been able to catch a few birds for
the programs and I think everyone that has stopped by has at least seen a bird.
The forecast is not very good for the upcoming week either. Lots of wind in the
forecast. But what can you do?
So Friday was pretty dead at the banding station (we only banded 9) but
included another PHILADELPHIA VIREO. Today was a bit better. There were birds
in the area this morning, although we couldn't take full advantage of it
because of the high wind speeds. We did manage to catch 21 which wasn't bad.
Hopefully we can catch a few more for tomorrows programs!
