Howdy all,
Not a lot to report from the banding station over the weekend. In fact, it
was quite dead here. Sure hope it changes soon.
Because of the very low numbers of birds in the area, we have been closing
the station down around 11am to noon range. Today was a bit hot and humid (more
typical August weather!). As soon as we start getting more birds here, we
will extend the day a bit more.
Here are the totals for the last three days:
8/23:
American Redstart 3
Prairie Warbler 1
Field Sparrow 1
Carolina Wren 3
Northern Mockingbird 1
TOTAL--------------------------- 9
8/24:
American Redstart 2
Carolina Chickadee 1
Carolina Wren 3
Tufted Titmouse 1
TOTAL----------------------------- 7
8/25:
American Redstart 1
Black & white Warbler 1
Carolina Wren 1
Northern Cardinal 1
TOTAL------------------------------ 4
