Howdy all,
Sorry for not posting much recently. Not much to report from the banding
station. Since we caught 6 birds on the 4th, 4 birds on the 5th, then we were
not open on the 6th when T.S. Hanna passed, I will just forget those days and
bring everyone up to speed on the last two days. (They were not all that good,
so don't get too excited). So yesterday (9/7) we banded 12 birds, then today
(9/8) we banded 28. really have not caught anything out of the ordinary but we
have caught a GREAT CRESTED FLYCATCHER? the last two days (a species we don't
catch many of). Of particular note, we have been catching a lot of recaptured
OVENBIRDS that we originally banded on the 3rd Sept or later! They have been
hanging around for quite some time. And all have gained in weight. I am sure
they are waiting for this next cold front (just like I am!).

I have yet to look at the forecast, but rumor has it that there is a nice cold
front coming mid-week. I am soooo ready for it! should be a lot of migrants
coming with it!
