Howdy all,

Well, geez, the wind blew all day but we managed to open  a few nets this
morning. Sure wish it would have been a calm day, there were  birds around
finally. As it turned out, we ended up banding 60 birds, which is  pretty good
considering that it was so windy. Although it was not a super  diverse day, we
managed 14 species. Some of the better (least common captured  anyway) were a
BLUE-WINGED WARBLER and a WORM-EATING WARBLER. On an exciting  note, we caught
our
first GRAY CATBIRD of the season. Are the flood gates about  to open on
them?? I do hope it comes soon! Lots of Pokeberry around right  now.

Totals for 9/11:

American  Redstart               15
Common Yellowthroat         13
Black-and-white Warbler      10
Black-throated Blue Warbler  1
Prairie  Warbler                     2
Northern  Waterthrush             2
Ovenbird                               5
Worm-eating  Warbler            1
Blue-winged  Warbler               1
Traill's  Flycatcher                   1
Carolina  Chickadee                 1
Red-eyed  Vireo                     3
Veery                                    4
Gray  Catbird                          1
TOTAL------------------------------  60

I am not sure what to expect for tomorrow. It looks like the wind is
shifting to the south (which isn't "normally" good) but it is suppose to calm
down
so we might be able to open more nets. Not sure how many birds are going to  be
around tomorrow. I am hopeful but as always, its a wait and see!

Cheers,
