Howdy all,

Today turned out to be a pretty good day, even though the wind was a major
problem today. We basically ran less than half our station today because of the
high wind speeds here. All said however, we managed 178 birds today of 26
species. So not a bad day. Could have been much higher if we had more nets open
but what can you do! We also had a very large crowd of visitors today. I
assume  we will have many more tomorrow as well.
Many visitors were treated to a  CONNECTICUT WARBLER this morning. As well as
a nice mix of other birds. We also  saw our first push of some of the later
(temperate) migrants. First for the  season included HERMIT THRUSH, BROWN
CREEPER, and WHITE-THROATED SPARROW.
Also banded today of note for this station included a BLACK-THROATED GREEN
WARBLER, BLACKPOLL WARBLER, and a nice push of BLACK-THROATED BLUE WARBLERS
(finally).

Yesterday was pretty uneventful.

If the wind would lay down by morning, tomorrow might be an ok day. I don't
think it will be quite as good as it was today, but not bad. I think
Yellow-rumps will be around in good numbers now through the end of the month,
maybe
even longer.

Cheers,
